Our home is in the heart of the Pennsylvania Dutch country. It is a stable community with many charms for families. There is a quaint covered bridge just downstream, and Amish farms (of the non-brochure variety) quietly exist beyond the bridge. It is a low crime area. Our home is in a quiet location on the historic Conestoga River, yet is within a mile of a large supermarket and a major gas station.
In addition to all of the things to do here this is a good location for day trips to New York City, Washington DC, Atlantic City, Baltimore, Philadelphia and Gettysburg. Adamstown, with countless antique markets, and Reading, the granddaddy of factory outlet shopping, are also close by.
