A modern semi with a private garden

Our house is situated at the head of a modern street, in a newly built residential area in the vibrant, market town of Malton. Tucked away from the main roads we are only a short walk to the local park & the main town centre while only being a few minutes drive from open countryside in the nearby Yorkshire Moors. The city centre of York is approx 20 miles away.

Our house has a dining kitchen with modern appliances and a utility room. The sitting room has a large TV and a variety of entertainment options. There is also a downstairs toilet.

Upstairs there is one main double bedroom with an ensuite, a smaller bedroom with a single bed, and a family bathroom .

Doors open from the kitchen onto a patio and lawned garden which is fully enclosed and great for entertaining, there is a gas barbecue, a patio area, and outdoor furniture.

We have a small Lakeland Terrier (who goes to the sitters when we travel out of the UK), the house is family friendly and there are no steps other than the stairs.

If you could offer accommodation in California, or Oregon, would like to swap in 2024 for 2-3 weeks.

About the location

Malton is a traditional and vibrant market town with a `foodie` vibe. It is located close to the River Derwent in the rolling countryside of the `Vale of Pickering`. It has a bustling centre with good local amenities all within an easy walking distance from the house including a super children`s play park, excellent restaurants and eateries, museums and shops (mostly independent rather than high street chains) and a variety of leisure facilities including a golf course at Norton.

Malton has its own railway station with regular trains connecting to York, Leeds, and Scarborough. Local bus routes run from the town to all the local attractions and nearby towns and cities. The historic city of York is a 30 min drive and it`s just a little further to the coast at either Whitby or Scarborough. A regular train service runs from York to London/Edinburgh.

Leeds is a busy city about an hour away with museums, theatres, modern shopping centres, cinemas, sports facilities and good direct rail links.

If you like hiking, or biking, the surrounding countryside offers a variety of options, from leisurely rolling hills with picturesque views of stately homes, routes across the wilder open Yorkshire Moors or coastal paths, to more ambitious or challenging terrain in Dalby forest or the Howardian Hills.
