Overlooking Thames, an elegant, spacious third-floor Edwardian (1909) apartment in fashionable Barnes, SW London. (There is no lift.) Beautiful views of the river and of communal gardens and treetops with two balconies for sun at all times of day. Quiet street yet only a few minutes` walk from a number of riverside pubs and walks, restaurants and shops and to lively Hammersmith, a transport centre to all London. The apartment has two large double bedrooms, a spacious office, a kitchen/dining room, a large sunny sitting room and 2 good sized bathrooms. It has all modern conveniences and is comfortable and peaceful.

We also have an idyllic and peaceful 180 year old little 3 bedroomed beamed, modernised stone cottage in the Cotswolds which we are also happy to exchange (see link) - 30 minutes from Oxford and 40 mins from Stratford on Avon.

The London apartment has excellent bus and tube links to Covent Garden, Oxford Street, Piccadilly etc (15 minutes). Kensington, Fulham, Putney, Chiswick, Richmond and Kew Gardens all easily accessible by riverside walk or local buses.

Bicycles available. Car not needed.

It has a pretty pond and park, plenty of restaurants and pubs and trendy shops. Our apartment is in its northern part, on a lovely bend in the river and just across the beautiful Hammersmith bridge from lively, metropolitan Hammersmith, which has excellent transport to all parts of the city and beyond.

The towpath along the river goes to Hampton Court 11 miles to the west via Kew and the renowned gardens ( https://www.kew.org/kew-gardens),
Richmond and its huge park (https://www.royalparks.org.uk/parks/richmond-park) and Kingston and to the city in the East via Putney, Fulham and Chelsea. We almost never use our car except to drive out of London.
