It's in the leafy north London area of Crouch End,which has a village feel with lots of resturants, cafes, and bookshops. Central London is about 25 minutes away by regular public transport (bus and tube train). Hampstead Heath, the great ancient woodland covering 800 acres, is nearby, with wild swimming ponds and well as an outdoor Olympic sized swimming pool (there's one of these in Crouch End too).
