Family home by the sea with easy links to Edinburgh

Our house is a Victorian mid-terrace with lovely sunny front rooms and sea views. It`s located in a quiet street overlooking the bowling green and tennis courts (you can use the courts as a visitor). We are just minutes from Kinghorn Harbour beach, which is clean and well used by families all year round. A second beach is 10 minutes walk away.
We have a comfortable and friendly home and we've hung onto lots of toys and books if you`re travelling with a family. Two double bedrooms (one showing in photos with single cabin bed, needs updating), one single bedroom with cabin bed, one study/spare room (has double sofa bed). Our eldest sleeps in the attic but this has a narrow steep stair so will not suit young children. Family bathroom plus separate toilet. Gardens at back and front. This is a fine location for a car-free swap, which would also appeal to us. Neighbours are friendly and helpful!

About the location

Kinghorn is a large friendly village. As well as the beaches, which are its main attraction, it has a good mix of basic services and great public transport links. Fife has all sorts of interesting little pockets to explore on the coast and inland - fantastic history, ancient walking routes, rich farmland and characterful villages. Edinburgh is an easy visit - The train runs half-hourly and takes 40 minutes. You can spend the day in the city and return for a peaceful walk on the beach at dusk! Dundee is also great for a visit, with the new V & A and other fab arts venues... It`s also 45 mins away by train. Strike out in the direction of St Andrews and you can visit quaint fishing villages with fascinating harbours and nostalgic ice cream shops. Other favourite day trips within easy reach are Jupiter Artland and the Maid of the Forth boat trip to Inchcolm Island. The Fife Coastal Path is a long walking route which passes through Kinghorn. Active visitors can find many walks, runs and bike rides nearby - you can almost go all the way to Edinburgh off-road. The Ecology Centre is a local lochside nature reserve just 15 minutes` walk away. We`re 3 miles from Burntisland with its thriving high street - coffee shops, fruit & veg shops, fish shop & artisan bakery.
