Lovely 2 Bed home in Ostuni, Italy

IIl Gattino is a traditional stone Trullo. Built approximately two hundred years ago it houses the master bedroom and ensuite. The modern extension of the trullo incorporates a lounge / playroom (with double sofa bed), kitchen / dining room, modern bathroom and further twin / double bedroom.

There is a large outside terrace with plunge pool and shaded dining area as well as a panoramic roof terrace.

The trullo was fully restored in 2005, retaining the original features where possible (though sadly the grape press in what is now the master bedroom had to be removed!) and modernising the bathrooms and kitchen.

The property benefits from a lovely blend of historic characteristics and more spacious modern day living.
The house is fully equipped with everything necessary to make it child-friendly

The large patio is perfect for outside dining under a shaded pergola and is furnished for entertaining a large group
of friends.

The trullo sits overlooking an acre of walled grounds, incorporating an almond grove and numerous other fruit trees (lemons, figs, pomegranates, apricots, plums, pears, walnuts, persimmon, medlar, quince, fichi di india and grapes ? you are welcome to help yourself to anything in season). There is also a wild pasture field, ideal for exploring and nature walks.

The Trulli is located in the countryside outside the town of Ostuni, which perches on the edge of a shelf looking out towards the Adriatic sea. The coastline offers a variety of beaches from isolated little coves to developed seaside towns and all variations between. Nearest beaches are a short drive from the house.

The coast section of Ostuni gained the European Award of "Bandiera blu" (blue flag) ten times in a row due to the excellent seawater quality. Marina di Ostuni was officially listed as one of the 10 cleanest stretches of coast in Italy.

There are several sites on the internet dedicated to Ostuni. "Ostuni The White City" provides some information about the numerous things to do in Ostuni itself, as does ostuni.tv

The Itrian valley, one of the most fertile areas of Europe, stretches north from Ostuni, it's ancient olive groves punctuated by picturesque and historic hilltop towns, each with its own character and certainly worth exploring. Each with their own array of interesting attractions.
