Airy, sunlit home has two porches that catch the ocean breeze. Short (5 minute) walk to private access to our flat sandy beach. Quiet neighborhood has community pool and tennis court. Carolina Beach is on a small island connected to the mainland by a short bridge. On the island: aquarium, Civil War museum, state park, fishing boats for hire, kayak rentals, surfing, ocean pier, several good restaurants, and basic shopping. Two golf courses just over the bridge. Nearby Wilmington (20 min. drive) is a historic, southern town with a beautiful river walk, galleries, and a wide variety of restaurants. Across the river, tour the battleship North Carolina. Interesting day trips up or down the coast. And every day, the beach!
