Lovely 2 Bed home in Vignacastrisi, Italy

A traditional house with vaulted ceilings (built about 100 years ago) set in the middle of a small village about 1 mile from the nearby rocky coast. It is beautifully cool in summer and set back from the road in its own courtyard with 2 orange trees, thus offering secluded corners for sitting or eating outside. It has 2 double bedrooms, but could sleep more people if necessary. The house is simply furnished with essentials and has 2 large bathrooms. It is ideal for visiting Salento or relaxing in the sun.

There is now a pellet-burning stove which provides central heating, so the house can be used out of season too. The coldest months - December to February - are probably best avoided, unless you really love that time of year!

The village itself has a chemist's, a small supermarket and other basic shops and a post office.

Sandy beaches are a certain distance away, but confident swimmers can reach the sea in 5 minutes.

A car is recommended as public transport is almost non-existent. The nearest airport is Brindisi, but the bus that runs from there to Lecce is at irregular times. Mainline trains end at Lecce - there is is a little local train that will take you as far as Spongano, but nothing else.
