Lovely 3 Bed home in Tunbridge Wells, England

Our home is a comfortable, spacious, detached victorian property with lots of character on a quiet residential street close to the town centre. The house comfortably sleeps 5. On the ground floor there is a large dining room, separate kitchen, cloakroom and a comfortable lounge with open fireplace. The first floor has 3 bedrooms; 1 large double, one twin and one single and a family bathroom. We have a lovely sunny rear garden with two patio areas. There are bikes available for your use. There are small TVs in children's rooms, sky TV, lots of DVDs, CDs, ipod speaker dock and wireless internet connection.

Royal Tunbridge Wells is a vibrant spa town close to the Kent/Sussex border and the town centre is just 8 mins walk from our house. There are lots of shops, restaurants, bars, cafes and galleries in the centre, and a cinema complex is 5 mins by car. Be sure to take a stroll down to the Pantiles (in the town centre) and maybe sample some water from the Chalybeate Spring which gave the town both its spa town and Royal status.

The Royal Victoria shopping centre offers all the usual high street shops and department stores. The actual (older) High Street is more interesting, with many boutique shops selling more unusual items. There are restaurants to suit just about every taste. The Trinity Theatre and Assembly Halls, both in the town centre, offer great entertainment for both children and adults with theatre shows, music and comedy. There are a lot of parks nearby, from the Hilbert Recreation Ground at the end of our road, which has a bowling green and good play area for children to the larger Dunorlan Park where you can hire row boats and canoes in the summer (see pic), just a few minutes away in the car, or a 20 minute walk.

Kent is awash with stately homes, castles and gardens so if you are looking to explore some beautiful old houses or take a stroll around immaculate gardens then you will be in the right place. We have Leeds Castle, Hever Castle, Scotney Castle, Bodiam Castle, Ightam Mote, Chartwell (home of Winston Churchill), Penshurst Place, Knowle House.... the list goes on. Groombridge Place Gardens and Enchanted Forest is a great day out and is about 20 mins away by car. Or you can take the spa valley railway directly there from Tunbridge Wells town centre as an extra treat.

Bedgebury Pinetum is approx 20 minutes by car. It has a wonderful childrens play area and extensive walks around the forest. There are also mountain bike trails to suit all levels of ability. Mountain bikes can be hired by the hour and there is also a Go Ape adventure activity for those over 10 years old.

Also 20 mins away is Bewl Water, the region's largest lake offering flyfishing, sailing, canoeing, windsurfing and a cycle route along its 21 km shoreline.

The seaside town of Hastings is less than an hour away has a lovely old section full of second hand/ antique shops. It also has a quaint aquarium and fishing museum. If you take either of the cliff lifts from the seafront you get wonderful panoramic views over the town and coast.

The seaside city of Brighton is one hour away by car and is definitely worth a visit. Nestling between the South Downs and the sea, Brighton has a fantastic mix of iconic attractions, famed nightlife, award winning restaurants, funky arts, culture & year round festivals & events.

London is only 50 minutes away by train. We are a 10 minute walk from the station and the trains run regularly into London Bridge, Charing Cross and Waterloo. Alternatively, London is a 45 minute drive away and we would leave you our parking permit for North Greenwich Tube Station car park (jubilee line).

Flyers for the various nearby attractions will be left in the house for your arrival.
