About the location
We are in North Kelvinside, considered by many to be a favoured part of the West End. Within a 10 minute walk from our home are the Great Western Road (our local stretch of which was named in 2022 as “the third coolest street in the world” by Time Out magazine) with many wonderful cafes, restaurants, bars, and quirky independent shops (including the renowned Cottonrake Bakery and I J Mellis cheesemongers), Byres Road (with still more restaurants and shops including Waitrose), the lovely Botanic Gardens, the River Kelvin Walkway and the Oran Mór (famed for its A Play, a Pie and a Pint lunchtime theatre). The University of Glasgow, Kelvingrove Park and the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum are also within walking distance. Two subway stations and numerous bus routes are close at hand, too.
