Gallup is the old West and heart of native American culture and art. Area will appeal to geologists,archeologists, art lovers, historians, hikers and astronomers( dark clear skies and telescope at house) Cabin is modern and private, very peaceful setting 3 miles from grocery and art shopping yet you will feel away from it all. Great views. Relics of Gallup mines and Anasazi if you walk out back door to surrounding open areas. The geology is unique in the world, petrified wood abundant, again, even out the back door. A guest house is also on the 1.5 acres, perfect for older children. Lots of room and safe. A car rental is recommended because of the wide open spaces and public transportation poor except for Amtrak train in Gallup. Would consider car exchange if right circumstances, ie if insurance will cover.

About the location

The couple of pictures are right from the house. It is at an elevation of 6500 feet so cooler than you might imagine in summer and winter is ABUNDANT sunshine. It is Navajo and Zuni country and if you like native art, Gallup is the base.
