Far from the Madding Crowd - Istanbul

Ours is a three story renovated house in one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in town. The upper floor is a 12 meters long open-plan space with a large, modern kitchen one end and a sliver of a Bosphorus view on the other. This space is almost two storys high in the middle thanks to the sloping roof. Floor and stairs are real oak and the whole house has underfloor heating. The middle floor (that you enter by) has two bedrooms, one large and one small (our 6 year old's) and a simple but elegant bathroom. There is also a small but pleasant garden.
Our house is decorated with a mix of antique and modern furniture and would make a very relaxing base for time spent in this energy-sapping city.

We are located in central Kuzguncuk - a historic and picturesque neighborhood on the Asian shore of the Bosphorus, half-way between Uskudar and the Bosphorus Bridge. The transport hub of Uskudar is only a three minute bus ride away and from there you can be in central Istanbul in minutes by frequent ferries (a stunning way to travel). Kuzguncuk also features many great cafes and restaurants from the cheap and simple to the more elaborate and is a great place to hang out with a real community. It has a slightly bohemian feel - many artists/musicians/creative types live here but is also very peaceful when compared with most of Istanbul.

A weekly thorough clean can be arranged.
