Kiln Cottage, formerly a traditional 17th century thatched cottage has been sensitively renovated to include exposed cruck frame, an upper level with mezzanine and rustic wooden walkway, spacious living area with log burner and a lovely sunny kitchen.

The cedar clad extension is hybrid passive house construction using eco building materials combined with bespoke fixtures.

Large bathroom, ground floor master bedroom has a kingsize oak bed, ensuite shower and toilet, and a patio door which provides own entrance. First floor has a smaller bedroom with 4ft double bed and skylights, mezzanine is an office and music making space.

There is good off road parking and a garden around the cottage. South facing porch with plenty of dining and seating areas. Good WIFI and Smart TV.

An ideal location for exploring this quiet and wild corner of Dumfries and Galloway being close to Hadrian`s wall, Kielder Forest Dark Sky Observatory, Scenic drives to Solway coast on Scottish or Cumbrian side, the Lake District and Northumbria.

Great cycling and walking, bird watching and star gazing opportunities. Carlisle Castle and award winning Tullie House museum display the rich and violent past that have marked the landscape of the borderland disputes between Scotland and England.

Located in an `off the beaten track` corner of Dumfriesshire there is plenty to see and do.

A thriving community of artists and craftspeople live and work in this area continuing the traditions of weaving tweeds and tartans and celebrating the musical heritage with local pipe bands and events such as the Common Riding and Newcastleton Folk Festival.
