Situated among the Beaujolais vines

This is an old 18th century winemakers home, situated among the vineyards of the Beaujolias in the 'golden stone' region (les Pierres dorées). It has been completely renovated and includes a large farmhouse kitchen, two sitting rooms (one with an open fire), and four large bedrooms. It sits in over an acre of land, and overlooks several vineyards. The grounds also include a separate oven house. There are numerous villages within a few km, including Cogny and Ville-sur-Jarnioux. The latter includes a lovely restaurant featured in a previous Guardian review - L'auberge de la Place - Ville-sur-Jarnioux (see http://www.theguardian.com/travel/2013/aug/13/beaujolais-vineyards-wine-route-top-10-guide). It is part of a hamlet of about 8 houses, and is very calm.

This listing is new, and we have not included any interior photos for the moment, or even of the surrounding countryside. However, this is just to confirm that the interior is completely renovated, and is pretty much spotless (a cleaner visits every week). The surroundings are bucolic. We are planning to upload more photos onto the site to illustrate all of this.

About the location

Beaujolais Golden Stone (Pierre Doree area). Lovely villages and vineyards all around. very tranquil. Lyon 40 minutes away, and the town of Villefrance sur Saone 15 minutes away (for the daily market). It is a great walking and cycling area, and there are numerous local attractions. There are several vignerons within walking distance, all of who welcome visits and tastings. There are also a number of good local restaurants (the Guardian link indicated above mentions a few of them).
