Cahuita Paraiso

This lovely wood two-story house was built about 20 years ago directly on the beach in this small non-touristy village of Cahuita. The house is in a mature, well cared-for garden and is a few steps from the Caribbean sea on Playa Negra (Black Beach) in Cahuita. There is a very good kitchen and huge open balconies on both levels. The house is fully screened although there are very few insects due to the sea breeze blowing them away. All restaurants and three small grocery stores are within walking distance. The home can be reached from the San Jose, Costa Rica Airport by four public express buses each day for about USD 8.00 per person.

About the location

This village is occupied by Costa Ricans of African and Spanish and Indigenous descent with many English speakers along with Spanish speakers. It is tropical with high humidity. Transport is excellent by bus and taxi. There are many tourist attractions in the area. It is a peaceful, serene and very clean area. Animals about (monkeys, sloths, birds, etc). The Cahuita National Park (free) is a few minutes away. This is an excellent scuba and snorkle area and fishing is also good. People surf all along the beach including directly outside our house.
