Large and airy, modern 2 bedroom apartment in central london
Our modern and spacious flat is located on the 2nd floor in a friendly block of 22 flats in Zone 1. It was completed in 2013, and is located in a peaceful (considering it's so central!) but vibrant neighbourhood in central london. Our block in particular is pretty close knit and friendly as we all moved into the flats at the same time just over 2 years ago.
Our flat has:
2 large, similar size bedrooms - one king size, one double bed - and large open plan reception rooms so it's great for a couple, 2 couples or a family of 3/4 (depending on age of children)
A lounge with a large 62" HD SmartTV, surround sound system and a large corner sofa and pouffe, which can feasibly be turned into a further double bed size sleeping area for short-term stays (it's however not a sofa bed).
A well equipped large kitchen and dining room with seating space for up to 8.
Our kitchen contains a large fridge/freezer, electric hob and fan oven, kettle, toaster and dishwasher. We also a DAB radio. We do not have a microwave.
A lounge and kitchen/dining room each with doors leading onto large balconies, both with seating - one outdoor sofa on one side and a table and bench seating for 6 on the other side.
We have a vintage pashley tandem bicycle you are more than welcome to borrow and we also have the famous 'Boris bikes' available to hire for a hour or 2 from docking stations on our street!
About the location
Our apartment is essentially located between the vibrant areas of Borough, Bermondsey and Elephant & Castle, defined as Zone 1 (most central London zone).
We are close to London Bridge, Waterloo and The Southbank, as well as the famous Tower Bridge - so you get it all!
Great transport links (2 x tube stations, overground and many buses) within a few mins walk. Trains from Elephant & Castle (5 min walk) and London Bridge (10-15 min walk) take you direct to Gatwick or Luton Airports in under an hr.
Less than a mile to the renowned Borough Market (Wed-Sat) food market, as well as Maltby Street Market and Bermondsey Street - you'll find high quality produce and tasty street food, galleries, independent shops, bars, cafes, restaurants and an antiques market all within a 10-15 min walk.
Jump on a bus to Waterloo and in 10 mins you could be admiring the London Eye or The House's of Parliament, exploring the Southbank or Tate Modern.
On street parking is free on the weekends and from 6.30pm-8.30am during the week. During other times it is pay & display (max 2-4hr stays) or residents permits must be displayed. We can arrange daily visitor parking permits in advance for shorter stays.
We also live in the London congestion charging zone so a daily fee of £11.50 is payable to Transport for London ONLY if driving Mon-Fri between 7am and 6pm. Find out more http://www.tfl.gov.uk/
