A listed home in rural suffolk

We are fortunate to live in a lovely 15th century home which was originally a medieval hall house and has since gone through numerous changes, including being a dairy, three workers' cottages and a wool shop. It is now a comfortable four bed home with a lovely garden.

About the location

Bildeston www.bildeston.org is a pretty village in the heart of rural Suffolk. Not for those seeking the big city experience - although we are only an hour and a half from London and an hour from Norwich - but if you, like us, enjoy walking and cycling in the countryside, exploring the local pubs and visiting the Suffolk coast, Constable country and historic churches it's an excellent location

The village has a grocers shop and three pubs, including the Crown, which is renowned for its food - www.thebildestoncrown.com - and the Kings Head which brews its own beer.

The market town of Hadleigh is some 5 miles away. Historic Bury St Edmunds, Colchester and Ipswich are the nearest main towns.Constable Country is close by and the coast a 40 minute drive. Cambridge and Norwich are an hour's drive away and London is 50 minutes on the train from Colchester.
