Stroll along the tree lined promenade that follows the river and explore the old town's cobblestone streets, stores, boutiques, restaurants and castle remains. Baden has jazz bars, movie theaters with movies in various languages, and a cultural theater with dance and music performances. Dive into the city life, history, and museums of Zurich, just an easy 15 minute train ride away.

About the location

Situated on the banks of Limmat River, Baden is a famous spa and health resort of Switzerland, having the highest mineral content waters of the Swiss spa resorts. The healing qualities of Baden’s springs have been used for two thousand years, since the Romans established the settlement called Aquae Helveticae. Its old town provides visitors with some great sights, such as the gothic town tower (Stadtturm), the town hall and the beautiful old lanes. The Stein castle ruins and their stunning view of the town and farther to the Laegern, as well as the range of the Jura Mountains, are also a great attraction for guests. The lively small town of Baden is close to Zurich and is a popular holiday spot for both – the city residents and international travellers. Baden is also a host of many international festivals.
