180 year old stone cottage in idyllic village in the heart of the Cotswolds
Our peaceful little 3 bedroomed, beamed, modernised stone cottage is in a small hamlet called Hampnett. A five minute drive or 20 minute walk across the fields to a charming town called Northleach which has pubs, cafes, a wine bar, butcher, chemist and general store. Hampnett itself has nothing but a farm and farm buildings, a handful of big houses, a dozen pretty cottages, a stream and a glorious Norman church.
The house is old and cosy but very bright and sunny. It faces south and west with a spacious and comfortable sitting room with real fireplace, a modern kitchen with dishwasher, cooker, microwave, freezer etc which opens onto a large dining room (seats 10) with a comfortable sofa and chairs and folding glass doors and skylights. There is modern shower room and WC downstairs and a large useful utility room/boot room with washer drier, sink and an extra fridge. Upstairs are three smallish double bedrooms and a modern bathroom with a bath and overhead shower. The garden is flat and open at the front but looks out over a green and fields beyond, and there is a large elevated private back garden with a sunny terrace, tables and chairs, apple trees, and shade when needed. The house is not suitable for disabled or small children because of steep stairs and garden steps.
