About the location
I personally love the week end market in the square in Aubange, the food is just out of this world and you can watch the world go by from one if the local cafes. Marseille is great for culture and shops, you have to see the Vieux Port and the Mucem, both fantastic. Cassis is a picturesque little harbour near Aubagne. You can take a cruise along the Calanques from there. For sandy beaches head to La Ciotat, 20 mins drive from the house, great for the kids! Or if it is a really warm day, head to the university town of Aix en Provence and explore its gorgeous shops and restaurants in shady little streets...
