Quarryman's cottage

Ours is a Portland stone Victorian house, laid out like most Victorian houses but over three floors. Close to the shops in the heart of Easton, there is a park outside the front door. Fifteen minutes' walk (max) takes you to the cliffs and the sea. The house is comfortably furnished - not opulent. It has everything you'd expect. There is a walled garden, dog proof, at the back.

About the location

Portland is famous for its stone. Yes, it's extensively quarried and has been for centuries. People say it's weird, and the islanders are very proud of this. If you like rugged, wild beauty, there's plenty. There are birds galore, butterflies, wildflowers. There's climbing and sailing and fishing. And walking. A short ride takes you to Weymouth, a classic seaside resort. To east and west is the beautiful Dorset coast.
