Idyllic retreat just outside Dublin

We live in a passive house on 6 acres, just 20 minute drive from Dublin and 5 minutes from the N4, the road to the beautiful West of Ireland. Our house has a simple layout: an open plan kitchen living dining area, as well as three bedrooms (2 double, one single) a bathroom and a utility room with WC. We love the garden and are passionate about food, both growing and eating! We have a poly tunnel and allotment in our garden, where we grow everything under the sun, including 12 varieties of tomatoes! We also keep 3 hens and get fresh eggs every day from them.

About the location

We live between the towns of Celbridge and Leixlip. Celbridge is on the Liffey, 12 miles from Dublin is a fast growing town with a population of around 15,000 people. It has an attractive stretch of angling water. The name Celbridge is derived from the Irish 'Cill Droicid' meaning 'The Church of the Bridge. Castletown House, Ireland's finest Palladian country house, is an imposing building established in the town in the year 1722. The town has a deep historical background ranging from Celbridge Abbey with Jonathan Swift to Castletown House. It is situated close to the K Club, one of Ireland's premier golf clubs, which is home to the Smurfit European Open. Both Leixlip and Celbridge have shops, restaurants and other local amenities, and Maynooth town is a great local place to go for a meal and a cocktail! We are lucky as our proximity to Dublin city means that living on 6 unspoilt acres , it feels as if we are in the country; however we are only a 20 minute drive to Dublin City centre.
