via degli Opimiani
The flat is very spacious and friendly. It has been recently renovated to give a large, friendly living space for cooking, eating, talking, making and listening to music; and drifting out onto the terrace to eat, as the heat permits! This living space feels good both with and without lots of people.
In fact the flat is 2 knocked into one so is twice as large as most in the area. It has 2 double bedrooms, 1 single bedroom, 2 bathrooms, a large study with balcony, a sitting room with TV and double sofa bed, a large kitchen/living room with piano and sitting space, and a large terrace with table and chairs for 6/8. It is ideal for a family or group of friends wishing to explore Rome and the surrounding countryside.
About the location
This quarter of Rome was built in the 1950s and 1960s as the film studios at Cinecittà developed. It's friendly but not elegant: Pasolini/Fellini country, modern blocks intermingled with some of the richest archeological remains - the via Appia and the Parco degli Aquadotti, the largest park in Rome, with 7 aqueducts running through. Nearby markets for fresh food are excellent, and trattorie where one eats cheaply, simply, traditional Roman food. Transport into centre excellent (Metro A to Piazza Barberini 20 mins).
