About the location

Situated in beautiful gardens and offering spectacular views across to the Burren (and the peaks of Connemara on a fine day) this is a place to gently unwind and recharge. Just forty minutes from Galway City and ten minutes from the market town of Gort and the M18, this property is situated in a rural idyll yet superbly well connected for town and country. Enjoy the flora and fauna of the Burren or take a stroll through Coole Park and you will soon appreciate why WB Yeats chose to live in nearby Thor Ballylee and why this small area of south Galway inspired a generation of writers and poets at the turn of the last century. The ruins at Kilmacduagh set against the backdrop of Burren refreshes the soul and hardwires you into this most historical and spectacular of Irish landscapes.

The stunning and dramatic coast of the Wild Atlantic Way is within easy reach and hot summer days in Lahinch or Kilfenora will delight the children. Take a ferry from Doolin to one of the Aran Islands for an unforgettable experience. Walk along Flaggy Shore or enjoy an evening meal in the dreamy harbour village of Kinvara. The house itself is situated in the foothills of the Slieve Aughty mountains and deer, wild goats, red squirrels and birds of prey are a common sight. The gentle rolling landscape of East Clare is just minutes away and it's loughs and forests make an ideal environment for picnics, walking, fishing and cycling.

Limerick, Ennis and Galway are all within easy reach so even on days when the weather is changeable, there is plenty to do. We see this house as our sanctuary and whilst we enjoy an active outdoors lifestyle, some of our most treasured moments are sitting, with a glass of wine, in our sun room on a summer's evening watching the sun set.

We are just thirty minutes from Shannon Airport and approximately 2 hours and 20 minutes from Dublin.

We have a list of places to visit and things to do. Having young children ourselves, we know what makes for a fun day out!r
