City apartment with courtyard in wonderful Amsterdam!

The apartment is in the spacious area of Zeeburg / Oostelijke eilanden quite near the centre of Amsterdam. The apartment has 2 bedrooms, and an ample patio/garden.

People with problems walking stairs might have a problem with this house. Also not suitable for people with cat allergies as I have two cats that also will need care. Would love to take care of yours!

Please bear in mind that we live and work here. It is a lovely place and pretty unique for Amsterdam and in a great neighbourhood. Amsterdam hardly has any gardens or patios to be enjoyed so we are very happy with this place. I try to make it as cosy as possible and we are experienced home-exchangers but not a hotel, nor are we amongst the very wealthy, so I would love to exchange with "normal" people that are like-minded: responsible but relaxed... so the balance is good.

I will travel with my 18 year old daughter. Sometimes I will travel alone.

Please bear in mind that we don`t drive so remote locations really aren`t an option.

A swap with in London, Paris or Belgium would be nice!

About the location

Our neighbourhood is where water meets modern architecture. The Oostelijke Eilanden (Eastern Docklands) mix maritime heritage with thriving modern urban.

By the middle of the 19th century, a new, deeper, modern harbour was built to the east of the old ports. This later became the KNSM peninsula and Borneo-Sporenburg islands. It was a very lively area in the first half of the 20th century, with ships transporting passengers and freight to and from the colonies.

Development began in the 1990s, and now there is an eclectic mix of old warehouses and new, remarkable architecture, comparable to London’s Docklands. The area now houses boutique shops, restaurants, and many cultural facilities.
