A former fisherman`s cottage just steps from Fowey harbour, the house manages to be characterful and cosy but with modern necessities and a stylish look.

Slate floors downstairs, painted original wood floors upstairs. Open plan, really comfortable beds, a nice big table to gather round, small courtyard looking onto a sheer rockface, good WiFi, Smart TV, powerful shower... it really is a blend of Cornish charm, necessary comforts and tasteful décor.

There are two double bedrooms and a double sofabed so sleeps four comfortably plus space for a couple more.

The house is right in Fowey with all the shops, pubs and restaurants a stroll away and you can take your morning cuppa across the street and sit watching the boats sailing past. Ferryside, the famous home of Daphne Du Maurier, is right there in front of you.

About the location

Pronounced Foy to rhyme with joy. Situated on the south coast of Cornwall between Looe and Mevagissey, Fowey is a town steeped in history and known for fishing (the mussels are famous) and the shipping of china clay around the world. On the opposite bank are the villages of Polruan and Bodinnick with regular ferries to take you there. Designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the harbour is a haven for yachtsmen. There are plenty of water pursuits too with kayak hire and guided boat trips. There are spectacular cliff walks and for the serious walker there`s the Saints Way which runs from Fowey to Padstow on the North coast.

Readymoney beach is at the other end of the town. It`s very sheltered and safe for swimming. There`s a shop selling coffee and ice cream and beach stuff.

Fowey has a great range of eating choices, from pasties, fish and chips, pubs and tea rooms to highly-rated foodie restaurants. Right across for the house is Hank`s Crab Shack which is very hard to resist.

You don`t need a car in Fowey - there`s so much to do within walking distance. Taxis from Par station take about 15 minutes and usually cost £8.
