Charming Home in Minneapolis
Charming two bedroom, one bath home in North Minneapolis, Minnesota. Newly renovated kitchen and bathroom. Queen bed in one room, full bed in the other. Perfect for someone with business in the area who wants a small, comfortable, charming place to stay in lieu of an Airbnb. Uncovered parking pad in back, along with pines and a willow tree and hammock. Little work station nook and lots of local art on display. Big open kitchen and living room; bedrooms are on the smaller side. Washer and dryer, Wifi, central AC and heating. Not suitable or outfitted for young children or pets, apologies! No smoking of any variety permitted inside the property.
North Minneapolis is a residential, multi-cultural neighborhood with great eats. Ten minute drive from downtown Minneapolis, twenty-five minute drive from the airport. Ten minute drive from NE Minneapolis, which is famous for its glut of breweries, distilleries, craft coffee shops, and artist studios. Stones throw away from Theo Wirth Park, my favorite recreational area in the cities, where you can rent mountain bikes in the summer and cross country skis in the winter.
There are multiple bus stops within a few blocks of my home, but keep in mind public transportation might not run as frequently or extensively as you are used to- a rental car might be preferable to get the most out of your stay, but I do have a small woman`s bike available. I live in a wonderfully friendly and safe neighborhood, but not the fanciest zip code in the Twin Cities (that would be around the lakes!), so if that is central to your stay or expectations, no worries.
About the location
Minneapolis is a hidden gem Midwestern city. If you come during the spring, summer, or fall:
-We are frequently voted one of the most bike-friendly cities in the US. You can bike around our many urban lakes or between breweries.
-We have nationally-renowned dining, including Owamni by the Sioux Chef Sean Sherman, which won the Best New Restaurant at 2022 James Beard Award.
-Tons of breweries, cideries, distilleries, coffee shops.
-Our local music and theatre scenes are remarkably strong: hit up First Avenue, the Guthrie, the Palace Theatre, or any other number of entertainment venues.
-Not my jam, but plenty of sporting complexes and events available.
-Incredible local art, from the Walker Art Gardens to the artist lofts in Northeast.
-Great LGBTQ+ scene
Be brave and come experience a Minnesotan winter! Minnesotans do not stay inside: fat-fire bike, cross country ski, downhill ski, snowshoe, or simply winter stroll our many, many urban parks. I have women`s snow shoes that you`re welcome to borrow.
