Cosy house near centre of historic York

I live in a cosy two-storey terraced house 10-15 minutes' walk from the centre of York. It has two bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs (one bedroom is currently used as a study), a courtyard with lots of plants, and downstairs a kitchen-diner and living room. It can comfortably sleep 2-3 people but can accommodate 4 at a squeeze (with two in the main bedroom with kingsize bed; one or two on the double futon in the spare room; and/or one on the fold-out couch in the living room). There is only one toilet though (in the main bathroom upstairs). The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need including DeLonghi coffee machine (in case that's important!) and dishwasher. It is definitely on the small side, but very well located for exploring York's beautiful city centre.

Please be aware there are steep stairs to reach the bedrooms and bathroom upstairs, and the shower/bath is one you need to step into.

There is free on-street parking outside our house. I have a small deaf cat, Fuzzface, who would need some attention from you while you're here. She is very friendly and sociable. She's fine to be left on her own during the day but would appreciate some company at night. She has a catflap to go in and out the backdoor as she pleases. She is used to having catsitters and enjoys meeting new people. If possible we would have an in-person handover so that I can introduce you.

In summer I may ask you to water the pots in the courtyard.

About the location

York is a beautiful historic town in the north of England. My house is situated in an ideal location for exploring the city, about five minutes walk from the historic walls, 15 minutes walk into town, and half an hour walk or a short bus ride from the railway station. It's a beautiful town with lots going on including the railway museum, the Minster, the historic walls, the river, and many other places of historical interest nearby - as well as plenty to explore locally in Yorkshire. There's great hiking in the Moors and the Dales, and lots of history both in the city as well as the wider area. We'd recommend Rievaulx Abbey, Castle Howard, and Fountains Abbey, among others. It is an hour on the train or by car to the coast, and just over an hour's drive from Whitby and Robin Hood's Bay, two picturesque seaside towns.

I'm very happy to leave recommendations for where to eat/visit locally.
