Wren cottage - Waterhouses near to Alton Towers
Wren cottage is situated directly on the Manifold cycle trail in the Peak District National park. There are many good foot paths straight from the door, it is remote so offers peace and quiet but only 1.5 miles from the village of Waterhouses with a pub, shop and chip shop. The market towns of Leek and Ashbourne are about 8 miles away. It is only 4 miles from Alton towers and 30 miles to Chatsworth house. The spa town of Buxton is 18 miles away and boasts wonderful architecture, the famous Opera house and St. Ann’s crescent. If you like to see live bands, the near by town of Leek has a great music scene, you can usually find music in one of the many pubs, of which there are about 60!
About the location
The area is remote but still close to civilisation. We are in an area of outstanding beauty and is a complete antidote to modern day living but with all the trappings of modern day life close by.
