A Grand Victorian three-storey house built in 1870 in central Buxton a market town in the heart of the beautiful Peak District.

Four spacious bedrooms and two family-sized bathrooms both with showers and large baths are spread over two floors. The bright living spaces combine period features with modern architecture.

Very central with a parking space for one standard sized car, with local free street parking and a private pet friendly back garden (small but a south facing sun trap in summer).

We have cats and dogs to stay at the house (they love the underfloor heating on the ground floor!) but no pet sitting required. Our cat often travels with us - he's an older very relaxed and widely travelled cat- travelling most months and having spend a month in Italy. He doesn't catch birds/animals so is fine cohabiting with large/small animals eg horses/ guinea pigs- but sadly would struggle with a sharing a space with other cats/dogs

About the location

The house is in a tranquil area next to a Church (no bells) and a short walk to independent shops and restaurants, as well as local historic buildings and sites such as the Opera House (hosting the Buxton International and Gilbert & Sullivan festivals and events for all the family) and a Golf course surrounded by beautiful hills.

The train station is 10 minutes walk and goes straight to Manchester (train connection to the airport possible& 45 minutes drive from the house), with day trips by also possible to Liverpool, Chester and Nottingham (& Liverpool apirport and East Midlands airport also less than 1.5 hours away)

As Buxton is in the centre of Peaks there are lots of lovely other towns, villages and historic sites such as Chatsworth House and Lyme Park ( part of the Jane Austen trail) as well as family friendly activities-Peak Wildlife Park, Go Ape, Alton towers theme park - all within 30 minutes travel.
