Grand Victorian home in the Peak District
We welcome you to our grand Victorian three-storey house built in 1870 in central Buxton a market town in the heart of the beautiful Peak District and 1 hour from Manchester.
.
The house has four spacious bedrooms and two family-sized bathrooms both with showers and large baths spread over two floor, in addition to main living areas on the ground floor. The bright living spaces combine period features with modern architecture.
Ground floor: downstairs living room with wood-burning stove, smart TV with Amazon Prime opens out onto dining & sun-room areas with a modern kitchen (including induction hob, oven, dishwasher, fridge freezer). There a single downstairs toilet. The sun-room opens out onto the small fully enclosed back garden (large enough for table and chairs) which wraps around the back of the house, with a separate well lit access via a gate onto the outside footpath running alongside the house.
1st floor: master king bedroom and superking room ( can be split into 2 singles) with a large bathroom.
2nd floor: king and double rooms with a large bathroom (nearest to the king bedroom) & separate sitting/TV/library area. The sofa in the lounge can be made into a sofabed.
There's a parking space on the drive (more suited to standard sized vehicles, it is on a slope, suitable for more confident parkers only) and free parking in front of the house and on the adjoining roads.
Everything in Buxton is in easy walking distance- with public transport around the local towns, sites and villages and to Manchester.
The front garden looks out onto Buxton and in the winter you can see across to the hills.
From an allergy perspective we have cats and dogs to stay at the house (they love the underfloor heating on the ground floor!) as well as wool & feather bedding. Pets are most welcome, no pet sitting required.
We are working to make the house more sustainable & reduce it's environmental impact & are always interested in more ideas. Washing machine & air source heat pump dryer ( for rainy days!) are accessed via the cellar
