About the location
Bangor is home to one of the largest marinas in Ireland. There is a vibrant local sailing community with many European and World Championships held in Ballyholme (our little area). Our home is 7 minutes from the nearest club! Whether you're looking for adventure on the water or on dry land, there is plenty to do in the locality. Golf lovers will have a choice of 6 different courses within 15 mins drive (Bangor, Clandeboye, Donaghadee, Carnalea, Blackwood & Royal Belfast). You will be spoilt for choice for walks along the coastline, with the National Trust owned Ballymacormick Point stretching for several miles from the beach at the end of the road. Belfast, with its Titanic Museum, art galleries, theatres and shopping is a 25 mins train ride or 40 minute drive. We are located at the tip of the Ards Peninsula, an area of outstanding natural beauty. Embraced by the pristine waters of Strangford Lough to the west, and a score of sandy Irish Sea coves to the east, it's a nature lover's paradise. There are lots of pubs, cafes and restaurants right on our doorstep and if you want to travel more widely, Dublin is just 2 hours away. Public transport links are pretty good - a car is not necessary. Check out the local area here https://www.visitardsandnorthdown.com/
