Eel Pie Island Cottage
Our Cottage is on an island in the Thames in Twickenham. It’s a secret part of London that not many people know about, even Londoners! It’s an oasis 20 minutes by train from Waterloo station, 30 minutes from Heathrow.
The house is well set up with a new kitchen, fast internet, great heating and everything you need to enjoy your stay. Use it as a base to explore London or stay put, watch the boats and swans glide by or take our kayaks out and enjoy the river life.
There are no cars on the island and we don’t have parking, sorry.
About the location
Eel Pie Island has about 40 houses, a working boat yards, artists’ studios, a yacht club and a rowing club. It’s an oasis of calm with some of the residents living there since its heyday of the 60’s when bands such as the Rolling Stones, the Who, and Eric Clapton played each weekend at the hotel on the island. Sadly the hotel is gone but the sense of community remains.
